Silvia Garza Galvan

Silvia Garza is a biologist graduated from the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. In recognition of her work in defense of our natural resources, the College of Biologists of Mexico appointed her Honorary Member.
At the local level, she has held various positions, including Director of Ecology, Parks and Gardens and Agricultural Development of the Municipality of Monclova, Coahuila (1997-1999), her hometown. She was also Delegate of the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (2008-2011) in Coahuila.
She began her legislative career in the Congress of Coahuila, serving as a Member of Parliament in the LVII Legislature (2006-2009), chairing the Water Commission and participating in the Commissions on Environment, Gender Equity, Energy and Mines.
As Senator of the Republic in the LXII and LXIII Legislatures (2012-2018), she served as President of the Special Commission on Climate Change and Secretary of the Commissions on the Environment and Natural Resources, Water Resources, and Human Rights.
She is currently a Federal Deputy in the LXIV Legislature and Sub-coordinator of Urban Development and Environment in the Parliamentary Group of the National Action Party.
