Avay Miranda Junior

Director of Productive Structuring, Ministry of Agriculture, Brazil

Born in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais Brazíl, he lives in Brasilia since 1981.

Graduated in Agronomic Engineering from the University of Brasília / UNB, where he also studied postgraduate studies in Environmental Economics.

He was Technical Coordinator at the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the Federal District, and for 6 years worked as a consultant at Apex-Brasil, promoting internationalization and access to international markets of Brazilian agribusiness companies.

In his professional career, in the activities carried out in the Ministry of the Environment, United Nations Development Program / UNDP and Bank Caixa Economica Federal, he acquired several experiences that contribute with his knowledge in administrative management and activities related to the prevention and control of deforestation, recovery of degraded areas, rural environmental registration of properties, mobilization and action in the fight against forest fires.

He is currently a Rural Producer and Vice-President of the Union of Sheep and Goat Breeders of the Federal District. Today, he is the Director of the Department of Productive Structuring at the Department of Family Agriculture and Cooperativism of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. his new challenge is expand access to the Public Policies for Family Agriculture in every country. His area of activity covers projects and programs focused on Foment and Infrastructure, Renewable Energies, Agroextractivism and Chains of ociobiodiversity, working for the Valorization of Family Agriculture and small and medium Brazilian rural producers.
