Katyna Argueta

Resident Representative, UNDP Brazil

Ms. Katyna Argueta was appointed as Resident Representative to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Brazil and will take office as from 01 April 2019.
Originally from Honduras, she started her career in UNDP back in 2003, first as a consultant to Honduras CO Representation; then, as coordinator to HR Unit. She also worked as Deputy Country Director in Panamá (2009-2012) and Haiti (2013-2015). Since 2016, she acts as Country Director to UNDP in Mexico.

Career diplomat – holding an ambassador status -, worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Honduras as alternate Representative of the Honduran Permanent Mission to the Organization of American States (OAS), General Director of Foreign Policy, Chief of Staff of the Minister, Second Secretary of the Honduran Embassy in Great Britain and Protocol Officer.

In the private sector, she held positions as director of public relations and communications, corporate planning manager and served as president of a financial institution.

Ms. Argueta has specialization in management and administration and graduated from the Diplomatic Academy “Andres Bello”, in Chile.
